I believe in the integrity of Carlton Fletcher.

I recently sat down for an interview with The Albany Herald’s Carlton Fletcher. After i sent him the articles i did on B.J. Fletcher and Water, Gas & Light, he reached back out, said he enjoyed my writing and felt i had a strong voice for this community. He also said he is friends with B.J. Fletcher… I have to assume they’re somehow related… The interview was Thursday 2/4/2021. He said it should be in this Sunday’s paper or next Sunday’s depending on his workload.

Excitedly, i told my dad about the interview with Carlton Fletcher. He told me Mr. Fletcher did a story about a frustrated parent and student that attended Merry Acres. My dad, in a number of words, said he wasn’t too thrilled about Mr. Fletcher’s portrayal of him in the article, and that i should be wary of him giving me what he termed a political sucker punch. This article is to pre-empt any discourse and provide a more rounded perspective of the encounter.

One question he asked me was what area of the community, or what issue did i want to focus on impacting first. I told him, education. I made sure to praise the efforts and accomplishments of my dad, and added that more is needed to be done to make the Dougherty County School System better serve its populous. I have the hope that those comments won’t be spun as condemnation and scornful critique of my dad’s work. I’m currently reading my dad’s dissertation on homeschooling to better develop my blossoming ideas of a new decentralized, community-centered education experience. Dr. Ufot A. Inyang is above reproach.

I have the hope that the intent of Mr. Carlton Fletcher’s interview was not to try and cut the head off of a political career that i hadn’t even started…

I also have the hope that Mr. Carlton Fletcher does NOT have the ulterior motive of causing my business irreparable harm by juxtapositioning Sweet eZeeCopy with an unfavorable political ideology…

I also have the hope that Mr. Fletcher was truthful when he stated he and B.J. had fallen out over Trump disagreements and that he did not support B.J.’s embarrassing decent into a fog of lies and unfounded conspiracies.

We shall see Sunday.

Until then, here’s a brief excerpt from our conversation. In it, we discuss B.J.’s reaction to my article, my music, and my upcoming documentary COVIDCON.
