Letter to the Palmyra Heights Neighborhood Association
My name is Adam Inyang and I’m running in Ward 2 because we’ve been struggling with the same shortcomings for decades. The youth are aimless in the street with little to no opportunities for development. The utility rates seem to continuously creep higher and higher. And as businesses continue to venture across county lines, property taxes and utility rates are hoisted higher to maintain the city budget. It is high time for some innovation and collaboration when it comes to addressing these dogmatic issues.
With Community help, Adam Inyang in Ward 2 will be able to introduce bold ideas like using virtual learning and homeschooling networks to help lower property taxes by reducing use of school buildings and facilities. With Covid on its umpteenth wave, we need leaders that are able to adapt to changing times with innovative approaches.
Vote for a commissioner that works with residents and local organizations to outline common sense solutions for reducing utility rates throughout the city. We have the resources and the actionable plans to invest in alternative energy and integrate it throughout our homes and businesses.
Vote for a commissioner that works to prevent crime by targeting the conditions that help breed crime and not just respond to it with more police. Police are only able to respond to crime after it happens. Crime Prevention is the only way we ensure that no more families will be torn apart. We can also ease the burden on our police by hiring mental health professionals that are statistically proven to respond to certain civil disputes better than armed patrolmen.
When it comes to bringing jobs to the Good Life City, instead of trying to entice foreign companies to set up shop here, we need a Commissioner that will work to make capital and contracts more available to local small businesses. We can invest directly into our local community so that a Hair Garden Essentials on Broad, or Fun Park, or an eZeeCopy can expand operations and hire more people.
